Fork Tube Extensions

From the factory the Shadow Spirit 750 DC comes with a rear end height similar to a dirt bike so it is quite common to lower the rear end of the bike. A problem with lowering the bike is peg dragging and reduced kickstand lean. A quick and easy solution for this is to use a set of Billski fork tube extensions to raise the front of the bike. Billski fork tube extensions come in three lengths: 2", 3", and 4". They all look the same but the 4 inch fork tube extensions require longer cables. I chose the 2" fork tube extensions raise the front of the bike just enough not to drag the pegs but also add the appearance of a more rake angle while also restoring the proper lean when the bike is on the kick stand. The install of the fork tube extensions is very simple. You just raise the bike, loosen the fork tubes from the tree enough to lower them a bit. You carefully remove the stock fork tube caps, borrow the O-ring from the stock cap and place it on the extensions, then install the extensions to the proper tightness. A hole is hidden on the extensions to allow you to tighten them with an allen wrench stuck in the hole. Just reinsert the fork tubes and tighten the tree clamps and you are done. A good metal polish will bring luster to the aluminum fork tube extensions to help them blend with the chrome of the fork tubes making the extensions hardly noticeable. I think the 2 inch extensions are a must for any bike with a lowered rear end for both increased looks and helping prevent peg dragging.
